Responsibilities:

Responsible for all aspects of a well coordinated and executed event. Prepare marketing plans to drive attendance and nominations for selected events. Each event has its own theme and targeted attendance. Maintain budget and accountability. Must be prepared to negotiate with venues, audiovisual companies, entertainment, décor and any vendor associated with production of events. Work cross departmentally. Interface with editorial department, support advertising sales efforts by working with sponsors and coordinate the creation of promotional materials with the production department. Work in cooperation with the circulation sales team to leverage events to increase the number of subscribers to the Business Journal. Must enjoy writing. Supervise and/or prepare scripts for events, obtain script information from sponsors and communicate script changes to sponsors. Also responsible for press releases related to events. Some database management. Will have the opportunity to recruit and manage interns as needed.

Qualifications:

Some college education Proficiency with a Mac; Excel, Power Point Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof reading and speaking skills Ability to manage multiple projects and work with staff and interns Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone Ability to accomplish projects with little supervision Fantastic customer service ethic and expectations for quality
