Responsibilities:

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP is currently looking for a Senior Marketing Data Steward/Data Analyst in the Marketing and Communications Department to work with the Client Relationship Management (CRM) system, InterAction. The Senior Data Steward/Data Analyst will report to the Director of Marketing Database Services and will work closely with other members of the Marketing team, IT department, attorneys, and legal secretaries. The primary responsibilities of the Senior Data Steward/Data Analyst are to strategically review the data in InterAction to ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the information; act as the primary resource for questions from end users about data changes; and liaise with the IT department regarding issues, enhancements and upgrades. The Senior Data Steward/Data Analyst will need a general understanding of typical Windows desktop applications, and must be comfortable and confident working in a database environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Reviewing the database to proactively create new and maintain existing searches and to identify inconsistencies in the data.
• Researching and resolving data issues identified by InterAction users.
• Conducting research using internal and external sources to determine the necessary adjustments.
• Performing testing and reviewing activities to verify results of scripts, upgrades, and automated processes prior to the execution in the production environment or to identify errors in data feeds.
• Defining Data Steward best practices.
• Coordinating activities of other Data Stewards and interns.
• Creating and enhancing reports produced for firm management, partners, marketing, and business development professionals.
• Reviewing the database to identify and recommend adjustments and enhancements, including external systems and types of data that could add value to the system.
• Performing other related responsibilities and assisting with special projects as needed.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• BA/BS in Business, Computer Science, Marketing or related field with 3 years of CRM experience, or 5 years of related experience required.
• Data management and data manipulation skills.
• Knowledge of client relationship management systems or relational databases, InterAction experience is a plus.
• Desire and aptitude to learn database technology and concepts.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel; familiarity with MS Access is a plus.
• Excellent research skills and general knowledge of corporate structures.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Strong client service skills.
• Independent decision making abilities.
• Commitment and initiative to take ownership and drive projects.
• Multi-tasking abilities and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and problem solving skills.
