Business Development Coordinator -- Labor & Employment

Position Summary
The Business Development Coordinator will play a role in shaping business strategies and overseeing their implementation for the global Labor and Employment practice group and supporting other firmwide marketing initiatives.
As a member of a growing and energetic firmwide marketing team, this position is responsible for coordinating business development activities, as well as working with other marketing professionals to support research and analysis, pitches and proposals, events planning and other marketing and communications related activities. This professional will also work on developing 3-5 key strategic client teams and all other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
>> Partner with Labor & Employment Group Leader and other attorneys within the practice group to support firmwide business development and key client account development.
>> Build strong working relationships with attorneys; maintain a high level of day-to-day interaction with members of assigned practice group.
>> Plan, coordinate, and execute marketing and cross-sell activities to expand legal services provided to clients.
>> Conduct market research and client analysis to identify business development opportunities.
>> Develop pitch materials, presentations and responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs); assist attorneys with presentation preparation by compiling company research, industry-specific expertise and representative experience.
>> Draft and edit marketing collateral, including practice area descriptions and attorney biographies for print, website and intranet; post updates to firm website and intranet as required.
>> Collect case/matter information and maintain databases, spreadsheets; track new business pitch opportunities in client relationship management (CRM) system.
>> Assist in coordination of local and national conferences, client seminars and sponsorships.
>> Regularly coordinate and provide editing to the Labor and Employment blog.
>> All other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education:
College degree in Marketing or related field required.
Experience:
One to three years experience in a professional services marketing role required. Must be able to demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, strong writing ability, a positive attitude, and great work ethic. Must have demonstrated experience working independently as well as within cross-functional teams in a collaborative, professional environment.
Skills:
>> Must possess strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
>> Must be technology savvy and able to quickly learn new database systems.
>> Must be detail oriented, proactive and self-directed with ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities under tight deadlines.
>> Must demonstrate sound professional judgment and a high degree of poise and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts.
>> Must be comfortable establishing effective firmwide working relationships with individuals at all levels.
>> Must be able to react to difficult situations quickly, effectively and diplomatically.
>> Must possess, and be willing to continue to develop, strong organizational, project management and problem solving skills.
>> Must be a team player and be flexible in approach.
Must be able to operate computer and other office machines such as fax, calculator, telephone, etc.
Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment such as computers, fax machines, calculators, telephones, etc.
Requires the ability to multi-task and handle projects from various individuals. Must also address diverse issues on a daily basis. Must be able to handle stressful situations and interact with various personalities at all levels in the Firm. Must be able to make judgment decisions and adapt to changing work situations. Must be able to grasp and apply new ideas.
