Legal RFP Specialist

We represent Fortune 500 corporations, government entities, closely-held companies, non-profits, and individuals in alternative dispute resolution, complex commercial litigation, corporate transactions, employment, government affairs, hospitality, trusts and estates, and workers’ compensation matters. We also provide diversity and inclusion training to our clients.

The essential functions for the Legal RFP Specialist include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage and author technical, compliant, compelling, and competitive proposals and responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs),and other similar requests
  • Helps coordinate the creation and production of pitch materials, proposals, and responses to RFPS
  • Liaise with various departments throughout the firm to collect information needed to respond to requests
  • Work closely with marketing team to update existing RFP language and develop new language
  • Handle follow-up work associated with RFPs moving to the next phase: coordinating answers, additional information, etc.
  • Oversee production of final proposals (formatting, technical editing and reproduction).
  • Contribute to pre-proposal activities, including intelligence gathering; identifying stakeholders; performing a competitor analysis; conducting client research; and attending pre-bid meetings as necessary
  • Must have a successful track record at developing and managing winning technical proposal efforts
  • Develop story boards, proposal outlines, compliance matrixes, and proposal schedule
  • Coordinate proposal reviews with all stakeholders
  • Attending government workshops, industry days and other events to gather intel and meet partners
  • Generate reports and communicate status to the Marketing Manager and/or COO
  • Develop and maintain proposal content library and related documentation to include past performances, contract profiles, and other content to support future proposal efforts
  • Translate text into high-quality proposal graphics
  • Ensure compliance with solicitation requirements and criteria for evaluation
  • Manage proposal schedules, outlines, kickoffs, and reviews
  • Lead timely production and delivery of compliant, compelling proposals
  • Related technical writing and business development tasks, as assigned
  • Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously to meet strict deadlines.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned by the Firm’s Marketing Manager and/or COO.


Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related discipline required.

  • Minimum three (3) years of professional hands-on experience, preferably in governmental acquisition for legal services to include but not limited to RFP development, proposal evaluation, proposal management and development for the full life cycle
  • Demonstrated desire and ability to learn technical info, including philosophy, research and investment processes of our legal services
  • Experience with Technical Legal Writing is a plus
  • Ability to produce professional, technically-sound, and visually-appealing presentations and graphics
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Excellent organizational skills with an eye for details
  • Ability to be flexible to adapt and act quickly when urgent matters require it
  • Ability to work and maintain patience with diversified individuals of various ethnic backgrounds and professional competencies
  • Display the technical skills necessary to prepare, transfer and interchange documents using most effective Firm procedures and systems, require minimum review by management to assure quality
  • Project a positive, professional image toward clients, attorneys, vendors and staff in all interactions and situations
  • Follow all Firm rules, policies and practices as contained in the Firm’s Employee Handbook or as outlined by the Firm’s COO
  • Crisis analysis and crisis resolution at both a strategic and functional level
  • Technical skills in strategic planning and marketing, business and market development, market research and planning and promotions/advertising
  • Must also be able to work independently as within a team and possess a positive, "can-do" attitude
  • Must be able to work with all levels of personnel as well as Firm leadership
  • Must have a strong interpersonal skills and good judgment and be capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals
  • Excellent computer skills including all MS Office applications (Adobe, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required
  • Must have strong customer support orientation (for internal/external customers) and demonstrated professional demeanor
  • Maintain all client, Firm and employee information as confidential and share only on a need to know basis.
